Pera D (Year 8) has a real passion for golf and regularly practises and takes part in competitions. As a member of the Northgate News Team, she tells us a bit more about her golfing journey.

 How did you first get into golf?

All my family loves golf and they all play so that’s how I first started golf. 

How long have you been playing?

Around 7 years 

How often do you play or practise?

Sometimes I play with my mum and when there are competitions. 

What’s the most challenging part of golf for you?

Hitting the ball from difficult parts of the course.

Tell me about some of your recent competitions.

I have played two recent competitions and my team won and I have as well. 

What’s your proudest achievement in golf so far?

All my trophies.

What are your goals for the future in golf?

I’d like to be a golf architect in the future if I can’t be a real architect. They design the courses and the layout.

What do you enjoy most about playing golf?

When I hit a good shot and when I do well in games. 

What advice would you give to someone your age who wants to start golf?

Keep practicing and play competitions whenever you can.
