In 2016, following discussions with the School Council, the names of the Houses pupils belong to were changed to modern figures that pupils could relate to.

Sir David Attenborough, broadcaster and naturalist with the BBC for over 60 years. Known for presenting wildlife programmes such as Blue Planet. ‘The world is full of wonders, but they become more wonderful, not less wonderful when Science looks at them.’

Stephen Hawking, theoretical physicist, cosmologist and researcher at Cambridge University, best known for his theories on black holes. ‘One of the basic rules of the universe is that nothing is perfect. Perfection simply doesn’t exist… Without imperfection neither you nor I would exist.’

Dame Kelly Holmes Won gold in the 800m and 1500m at the 2004 Olympics and holds the British records for 600m and 1000m
