Year 9 GCSE Preferences

This page will be updated January 9th 2026 with the latest GCSE preferences.

In Year 9, students are able to choose from the following options for GCSE:
Art & Design, Computer Science, Design Technology, Drama, Food Prep & Nutrition, French, Geography,  History, Music, PE, Philosophy Ethics and Religion, Photography and Textiles.

 

The compulsory subjects you will study in Year 10 include: English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science, Citizenship and Physical Education.

 

English Baccalaureate

As part of the English Baccalaureate curriculum, students study the core of English, Mathematics and Science, with a choice of a Modern Foreign Language (French or Spanish) and a Humanities subject (either Geography or History). By achieving grades 9-5 in all five subjects, students will be eligible for the English Baccalaureate. Our options structure allows pupils to select subjects as part of the English Baccalaureate alongside a range of other course options.
